A parent’s decision to relocate within the United Kingdom or overseas raise acute concerns for both parents. In most cases, relocation requires the consent of the ‘absent parent’, failing which leave of Court.

On occasions when the ‘absent parent’ objects, then the matter will be resolved by the Sheriff in a court action.
