Wills

Writing a Will allows you to express what you want to happen to your belongings, including property, money, and possessions after your death.

A Will is a legally binding document that communicates your wishes after you die. It allows you to determine who will inherit your estate, appoint executors to administer your estate, and make ancillary provisions, such as funeral arrangements.

If you die without leaving a Will, then your estate will be distributed in accordance with intestate succession laws in Scotland. This may mean that your family members may not inherit your property in the way you want them to.

In Scotland, in the absence of a Will, cohabitants and partners who have not registered a civil partnership cannot inherit from each other.

At Cameron Macaulay, we have the knowledge and expertise to help you draft a Will in accordance with your wishes. Please contact our private client solicitors today on 0141 204 7844, by email at mail@cameronmacaulay.law, or complete our contact form.
